This 1958 Carlton Flyer was a gift from a complete stranger. He enjoyed the information and enthusiasm on my web site and offered me the bicycle for free.

Painted with a brush and complimented with home made decals. The results are not show worthy but certainly pleasing to the eye. The frame and fork set had been completely stripped of paint before I got the bicycle.

The Flyer's ride has a vintage feel to it. The bicycle is smooth and very stable feeling. Best riding situation, a relaxing Sunday afternoon cruise down a little used secondary highway in North Western Ontario, Canada.

Most of the components appear to be original and certainly period correct. Both the stem and the handlebars are getting to be pretty hard to find, as are most of the other components.

The bottom bracket was swimming in grease, when the bicycle was acquired. A good cleaning revealed an almost perfect unit. One wonders how much use the Flyer saw. Anyone got a set of Milremo cranks and rings?

CLB Courrier brake calipers are correct for the Flyer but, sadly, the original levers did not come with the bicycle. A proper set will surface(again) some day and when it does...

The Milremo crank and ring set will be replaced when a good set makes its where abouts known. Until then, this unit works just fine.

Lots to learn yet about making and applying home made decals. I am putting the brush paint and decal procedure on my web site soon.
