VR6 Frame symposium, Saturday 10/07/2006
Frame Symposium Saturday 10/07/2006, held in Allendale park, Pasadena California. Thank you Chuck Schmidt for organizing and hosting this event, and to those that attended. A special thanks is owed to Peter Johnson for being the unofficial leader of the discussions and to the ones that brought bikes, without them it would have been a short and boring event, which it was not! If you have the opportunity to attend Saturdays event in the future you owe it to yourself to participate, you will gain knowledge, have an opportunity to share your knowledge and to meet great people. This is a smaller more intimate event, Sunday's “show” is awesome, but it also can be a little overwhelming, there are so many bikes to see. Sunday is like a great buffet in Las Vegas, way too much to choose from for just one meal. Saturday is like going to a very fine restaurant with small group of close friends, but not pretentious! These are the opinions of one who has just gotten back into bikes in the past 3-4 years, maybe in 10 to 15 years I will be more jaded, thinking there is nothing more to learn and no point in sharing what has been so freely given to me, I hope not! It is encouraging to see that those who have been involved in this sport / hobby / business for 10, 15, 30 years or more have not lost their enthusiasm or become in any way elitist.
