Sean Yates' '90 Team 7-11 Merckx
This is a genuine 1990 Eddy Merckx 7-11 Team bike ridden by Sean Yates. The bike served as a spare for Yates during the 1990 season including at the Tour de France. It had very little use and is in like new condition. It was equipped with the original Shimano Dura-Ace 8 speed group (STI) and a custom dyed Team Flite saddle.
It was purchased from the team at the end of the 1990 season and has been a show bike ever since. This one is a real jewel. See the March/April 2008 issue of Road Bike Action magazine for more information on the bikes and the 7-11 Team.
I sold the bike to Jerry Jeter, a collector of Team 7-11 bikes, in 2008. Jerry did a wonderful job with further restoring the bike. The last four photos in the album depict Jerry's outstanding craftsmanship.
