I purchased the complete bike in 2007 from the fellow who bought it from Team Motorola when the team closed its doors at the end of the 1996 season. Full documentation came with the bike. Frankie Andreu had autographed it.
I later acquired a ‘96 Team Motorola Merckx frame that had been raced by Lance Armstrong. After a lot of thought and consultation with some experienced collectors, I transferred all of the components from the Andreu bike to the Armstrong frame, acquired several Armstrong-specific pieces to complete it.
