A Puncture, a Pith Helmet, and an Hotchkiss "Jeep"

Too bad this image isn't of better quality, but it does show an interesting vignette. Nello Lauredi has punctured, and his French National Team's Hotchkiss-built "Jeep" has stopped to lend a few hands. Note the man on the right appears to be using a bladed tool to help remove the tire from a spare wheel. In 1951 Tour riders could still replace only the tire or the wheel, but not both (unless the tire was flat AND the wheel was damaged). From "But et Club - Le Miroir des Sports" No. 306, 23 July 1951.
