A party of five gentlemen from Alameda passed through town on their bicycles Sunday morning. They were out for a record, and they got one, making the run from Alameda to San Jose in three hours and forty minutes. The parties making this astonishing trip were J. E. Barber, R. B. Tappan, T. G. Daniells, J. E. Bland and Clyde Conkey, each one of whom weighs 200 pounds or more.

Bright and early last Thursday - at 5 o'clock in the morning - the following Alameda wheelmen started for a run to Hayes Canyon: Charley Taber, Fred Linderman, Winn McKean, Clyde Conkey, Fred Brown, M. B. Sneden, W. M. Hunt, M. Bland and Mr. Cederholm. They made the 16 miles, including grades, in about two hours.

ON A VISIT.

ALAMEDA. Feb. 26. - Clyde Conkey, nephew of Editor T. G. Daniells of the Argus, and six years ago one of the Alameda press gang, is in town visiting old friends. Conkey is now editor of a weekly paper in Hamilton, Bitterroot valley, Monna. called the Republican, and he came out to the coast with the Montana Press Association, via Southern California.
