Horace B. Sperry was in the City last week, but left Tuesday for Fresno. He carries his wheel wherever he goes, and rides all the time.

Horace B. Sperry, S. F. Business Leader, Dies

Long Illness Fatal To President of Oil Company

Horace B. Sperry, prominent San Francisco business executive and member of a pioneer California family, died yesterday at the Dante Hospital after a long illness.

Associated for many years with his family's firm, the Sperry Flour Company, Mr. Sperry had been active during the past seven years as president of the North American Oil Consolidated.

Mr. Sperry was born in San Francisco, the son of Austan Sperry, California pioneer, and Mrs. Mary Simpson Sperry. He was educated in the public schools here and later graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In September, 1914, he married his present wife, Mrs. Mabel Bunker Sperry, who survives him at their home at 60 West Clay Park. There are no children.

Mr. Sperry was a member of the Bohemian Club and the Occidental Lodge of Masons.

He leaves his widow, a sister, Mrs. C. A. Bodwell, of Petaluma, and a brother, Austin Sperry of Berkeley. Funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at the N. Gray & Company chapel, Post and Divisadero Streets.
