The Wheelmen.

A bicycle tournament will be inaugurated to-night at the old Pavilion at Sacramento. The "League of Champions" will participate.

The report has been sent in that Morgan and Woodside are seriously contemplating a run from Chicago to this city some time during the coming Spring. They are to ride their machines every practicable foot of the way.

Since the San Francisco Bicycle Club undertook to erect a wheel and club house, the Citizens' Club of New York has signified its intention of doing likewise, and to insure its immediate erection Fred Bourne of that city has subscribed $10,000.

The annual election and banquet of the Oakland Club was held a week ago yesterday. The following officers were reelected: President and Captain, George H. Strong; Vice-President, W. H. Bunker; First Lieutenant, W. H. Lowden ; Second Lieutenant, W. H. Taylor ; Third Lieutenant, George L. King; Secretary and Treasurer, the indefatigable W. C. Gibbs. After all business had been dispatched the club adjourned to a restaurant, where an elegant repast was spread. Speeches were made by Messrs. Yale, Booth, Burkhalter, Bunker and Taylor. Messrs. Collingham and Gibbs took charge of the musical portion of the programme.
