The meet to be held by the Acme Athletic Club on Thanksgiving day will bring out a number of new pneumatics in the events. Osen of San Jose will, without doubt, enter in the championships, and as there is a number of “surprises" from San Jose, the Garden City will be well represented.

Representatives of the two Garden City clubs are trying to form a union of the two, and it would certainly seem a proper thing to do. "In union there is strength," and if the two clubs could be induced to pull together they might give such race meets and establish such a clubhouse as would be a credit to themselves and to San Jose.

The Garden City Cyclers is the name adopted by the two consolidated clubs of this city. The officers are: J. B. Lampkin, President; J. A. Desimone, Vice-President; J. L. Bothwell, Secretary-Treasurer; C. N. Ravlin, Captain: R. Summers, First Lieutenant; F. S. Munn, Second Lieutenant; J. A. Delmas, Color-Bearer; W. W. Needham, Bugler.

The President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and the following gentlemen constitute the Board of Directors: Y. D. Hensill, G. A. Morrill, F. P. Black, E. Williston, V. B. Stanford and Al Col. The Directors have full power and control of the club's affairs.

The club is at present located in a large store-room on East San Antonio street, but expect to move into better quarters about the 1st of March. The new rooms are in a building being erected on South Second street. A committee has been appointed to wait upon Jacob Rich, owner of the First-Street Electric Railway, to encourage him in building a track and the necessary buildings on the line of his road.

The Garden City Cyclers, an organization which numbers among its members some of the best racing men on the coast, was formed on the 13th of last January by a combination of the old Cyclers and the Garden City Wheelmen. The new club has flourished from the beginning and has done much to sustain interest in the sport to which its members are so devoted. The club has comfortable apartments on a prominent street which are seldom deserted. There is a parlor with two large bay-windows and a corner fireplace with an elegant hard wood mantel and plate-glass mirror, two billiard-rooms-each with its table and a directors' or officers' room - also a bathroom for training purposes. The rooms are lighted by both gas and electricity. It is proposed to build a good bicycle track, and have it in readiness for the race meet to be held on Admission day. The fleur-de-lis has been adopted by the club as its distinctive emblem. The present officers of the club are as follows: J. B. Lamkin, president; J. A. Desimone, vice-president; J. L. Bothwell, secretary-treasurer; board of directors - G. A. Morrill, Y. D. Hensill, Al Col, C. D. Smith, F. P. Black und E. Williston; C. N. Ravlin, captain; R. O. Summers, first lieutenant; F. S. At that time he was a member of the Garden City Wheelmen, which was started in 1886. This club combined with the San Jose Cyclers and formed the Garden City Cyclers.
